Position Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing maintenance operations while ensuring safety, compliance, and equipment reliability in an industrial MRF environment. This role combines leadership, planning, and hands-on technical work to support efficient and safe operations.
Leadership & Team Support

Lead and supervise Maintenance Technicians
-
Set expectations, provide daily direction, and ensure accountability
-
Train, mentor, and develop maintenance staff
-
Foster teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Maintenance Operations
-
Plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance and repair activities
-
Develop, implement, and oversee preventative maintenance programs
-
Review daily inspection sheets and assign work orders
-
Perform hands-on maintenance when needed, including installation, alignment, welding, and fabrication
Equipment & Systems
-
Ensure reliability of MRF conveyor systems
-
Maintain motors, gearboxes, bearings, balers, and related components
-
Inspect completed work to meet company and safety standards
Safety & Compliance
-
Model and enforce safety policies and procedures
-
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, PPE use, and Lockout/Tagout
-
Serve as a point of contact during OSHA inspections and safety audits
-
Ensure proper hazardous material handling and disposal
Communication & Documentation
-
Coordinate with department management and facilities teams
-
Communicate maintenance status, needs, and progress
-
Maintain organized work areas and proper storage of tools and supplies

Monitor and document OJT and safety training records
Education & Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Minimum 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in an industrial or maintenance environment
-
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with conveyor systems
-
Proficient in welding (Arc, Stick, Rod, and MIG)
-
Skilled in metal fabrication and mechanical repairs
-
Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and maintenance best practices
-
Proven ability to lead and maintain high performance standards
-
Must be a non-federal applicant due to equipment operation requirements
