Position Overview

Supports and advances all plant safety, health, and compliance programs.

Partners with the Safety Manager and operational leadership to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Designed as a growth-track role with potential advancement to Safety Manager based on performance and leadership capability.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.

Experience as a Safety Professional in manufacturing, heavy industrial, mining, cement, aggregates, or similar industries.

Strong knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations, including Part 46/48.

Skilled in hazard recognition, incident investigation, and industrial safety compliance.
-
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities across all levels of the organization.

Ability to work in a heavy industrial setting, including walking long distances, climbing stairs, and entering confined spaces (with proper safety protocols).
Key Responsibilities
Safety Program Leadership

Support development and improvement of safety policies, procedures, and training programs.

Assist in managing regulatory compliance programs (OSHA, MSHA, EPA).

Conduct and participate in site inspections, audits, risk assessments, JHAs, and safety observations.
Training & Employee Development
-
Deliver safety training, onboarding, toolbox talks, and annual refresher courses.

Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices and PPE requirements.

Serve as an internal safety resource for education, hazard mitigation, and continuous improvement.
Incident Prevention & Response

Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.

Assist with corrective action plans and verification of completion.
-
Track safety metrics, analyze trends, and support risk-reduction strategies.
-
Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and readiness initiatives.
Compliance & Documentation
-
Maintain accurate safety records, logs, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation.

Support preparation of compliance filings and regulatory submissions.
-
Ensure contractor compliance with plant safety standards and access requirements.
