Job description:
Position Overview: The QC Inspector is responsible for inspecting and testing products to ensure they meet company, customer, and industry quality standards. This role involves conducting inspections, maintaining documentation, performing quality-related testing, and communicating quality requirements with production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality control inspections and testing on manufactured products.
- Complete and maintain inspection and testing documentation.
- Verify products meet specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct dimensional, weld, coating/lining, laboratory, and final inspections as assigned.
- Communicate quality requirements with supervisors and lead personnel.
- Perform Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) inspections if qualified.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Related manufacturing, inspection, or quality experience preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical documents, and inspection procedures.
- Strong math, measurement, and problem-solving skills.
- Certifications determine inspector level and pay range (Levels A–D).
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required for Inspector Levels A through C.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and climbing.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and perform repetitive hand movements.
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, fumes, and manufacturing hazards.
- Must wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, and reflective vest.
Schedule & Environment
- Flexible schedule may be required, including overtime, weekends, and evenings.
- Regular, reliable attendance is essential.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with varying weather conditions and noise levels.
