Job Summary:

The Clean Up Laborer is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment in the cement plant. This role involves general housekeeping, material handling, and support for plant maintenance operations. The position requires physical labor, attention to safety protocols, and teamwork to ensure smooth production processes.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant, including sweeping, shoveling, hosing down, and removing cement dust, debris, and waste materials.
  • Assist with moving and disposing of raw materials, by-products, and waste to designated areas.
  • Support maintenance and operations staff by clearing work areas, helping with access to equipment, and assisting in minor cleanup during shutdowns or maintenance activities.
  • Operate basic cleaning equipment and tools such as brooms, shovels, vacuums, and hoses safely and effectively.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, equipment blockages, or material buildup to supervisors.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to cement dust and other hazards.
  • Maintain plant cleanliness to support operational efficiency and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Assist in sampling, inspections, or other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in industrial cleaning, construction, or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, shoveling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in dusty, noisy, and sometimes high or elevated areas.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Team-oriented attitude and willingness to follow directions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60lbs & above.
  • Ability to work in dusty, hot, or noisy environments.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights as required.

Work Schedule:

  • Overtime may be required during shutdowns or peak periods. Meaning there are 8-12hr shifts.
